Independent battery report: from the dealer or a third party?
Know within three minutes what the battery of an electric car is really worth. CARA-certified, brand-independent, throughout the Netherlands and Belgium.

The shift to electric driving and the demand for proof
Electric driving requires different knowledge. If you are considering an electric car for the first time, the battery is the most important component to research thoroughly. If you want to test the battery of an electric car, the mileage says surprisingly little. The condition of the battery pack determines your range, performance, and what the car will still be worth in three years. Our battery report makes exactly that visible.
CARA approved
The European-certified test standard for objective battery diagnostics
Within 3 minutes
Fast and based on what the car itself registers in the BMS
Fixed rate
No unexpected costs. For individuals, our test costs €80,- incl. VAT
The process & the technology
A seller may say, with the best of intentions, that the car drives fine and the battery is still good. Furthermore, when fully charged, the display shows the maximum range. However, that says nothing about its actual condition.

How degradation occurs —
Lithium-ion batteries lose some of their maximum capacity over the years. The rate depends on temperature and usage. Frequent fast charging or rapid acceleration with a cold battery accelerates the process. Charging to 100% often, or leaving the car at a low SOC (state-of-charge) for a long time, is not good. Therefore, we advise keeping the SOC between 20% and 80%.
How we measure —
For a reliable test, you need diagnostic equipment that communicates directly with the Battery Management System (BMS). The BMS controls the individual cells, and all relevant data is stored here. We use this history for our test. With our TBE Toolkit, we read the data via the OBD dongle within 3 minutes and then use our algorithms to determine the health of the battery.
Independent
The diagnosis is carried out by an affiliated partner. We are brand-independent: we have no ties to car manufacturers or importers. Consequently, we have no interest in the outcome. If the measurement turns out well, that's what you will read. If it is disappointing, you will read that too.
That works both ways. The buyer knows what they are buying, and the seller gets what the car is worth. You then discuss the price with figures instead of assumptions.
For the buyer
Helps with the pre-purchase inspection. If there is more degradation, you know exactly what to expect before you invest.
For the seller
Give the buyer something tangible to rely on. If the battery is in good condition, it backs up your asking price with facts.
The certificate
Three minutes of measuring, then our software generates the report. Not a printout of the raw data, but simply a clear certificate in plain language.
The software processes the data into a certified digital document with CARA Approval. At a single glance, you know exactly where you stand. We say what we measure.
SOH percentage
The State of Health shows the current storage capacity of the battery pack compared to when it was new.
Cell balance
Insight into whether there are significant voltage differences between individual cells of the battery.
TRAFFIC LIGHT
Our traffic light summarizes all measurements in a single color: 🟢 = selling point, 🟡 = negotiating point, 🔴 = fix first.
Having a battery electric car tested: here's how to arrange it
There are two routes. If you are a private individual, you can have your electric car's battery tested at an affiliated garage in your area. This costs 80 euros including VAT. You will drive away with a certificate.
Do you work in the automotive industry? Then you can perform the measurement yourself. The toolkit costs a one-time fee of 99 euros excluding VAT, after which you pay 29.95 per test. Convenient for intake, delivery, or a lease return.
Both routes yield the same result: a CARA Approved report with SOH percentage, cell balance, and charging history.
Frequently asked questions about the battery report
A battery certificate is an independent report on the health (State of Health) of an electric car's battery.
Have an independent SOH test performed. In just 3 minutes, it shows how much capacity the battery has left, regardless of what the seller says.
The SOH percentage, cell balance, charging history, warranty status, and a benchmark against similar vehicles.
Via a TBE test. Immediately after the measurement, you will receive the certificate as a PDF and JPEG.
In practice, the same document: an independent report on the battery condition with SOH, cell balance, and warranty status.
Finally: avoid surprises afterwards
The transition to electric driving raises questions. Assessing a used battery requires the right technology and expertise, which is exactly what we make accessible.
Many misconceptions still circulate on forums and social media, the most persistent being that high mileage automatically means an EV is written off. Our measurements show otherwise: how the vehicle was charged often says more about the battery condition than the number of kilometers driven. It is precisely this charging behavior that we extract from the BMS data.
Because we work throughout the Netherlands and Belgium, the test is accessible whether you are a buyer, seller, or entrepreneur. With a SOH certificate in hand, you negotiate the price based on facts instead of assumptions.
