A measurement that no one sees, sells nothing
An SOH percentage disappears in the ad copy. It ends up somewhere at the bottom among the options, or it isn't included at all when transferred to a platform. The measurement has been taken, the certificate is ready, and the buyer scrolls right past it.
That is a shame, because with a used EV, the condition of the battery pack is precisely the one thing a buyer cannot see, cannot hear, and cannot test drive. It is exactly the information on which they should base their decision.
Why an SOH API alone is not enough
A link works fine, but it always runs from one system to another: from your inventory management to a single advertising platform. If you want coverage on all the places where your cars are listed, then you need a whole series of those links. And every time a platform or a field changes, someone has to tinker with it.
If you work with a single system and a single channel, it is quite manageable. If you operate with multiple branches and advertise on multiple platforms, then achieving one hundred percent coverage through integrations is a project that is never truly finished.
