Tesla battery testing: an independent SOH certificate
We test 74 Tesla versions, across 11 model groups. Within three minutes, you will know the remaining value of the battery pack.

WHAT COMES OUT OF THE BATTERY PACK
What we read out from Teslas
All 74 Tesla models in our list are fully electric. With a large battery pack, the value is in the details: not just how much capacity is left, but also whether all cells are still performing equally.
The SOH percentage: the actual capacity compared to the factory value
The cell balance: the voltage difference between the weakest and the strongest cell
The charging history: how often it has been fast-charged and how deeply it has been discharged
The warranty status of the battery pack
A comparison with similar cars of the same year of manufacture
Everything comes directly from the battery management system via the OBD port. No estimation based on age or mileage. Within three minutes, the CARA-certified certificate is ready, as a PDF and as a JPEG.
Which Teslas we can test
We also read out the first-generation Model S, which many diagnostic tools fail to support. In total, there are 74 Tesla variants in our list, divided across 11 model groups, including Model S post-09/2015, Model S pre-09/2015, Model X MY15-20.
Age and mileage say little about a battery pack. How it has been charged carries more weight: a car that spent years on a fast charger is in a different condition than a car that was connected to a home wallbox. You only see that difference when you read out the pack itself, and that is exactly what a buyer of a used Tesla asks for.
The measurement goes through the OBD port. You get the SOH percentage, the cell balance, the warranty status, the charging history, and a comparison with similar cars, summarized in a CARA-certified certificate as a PDF and a JPEG.
