What we read from Polestars
All 6 Polestar models in our list are fully electric. With a large battery pack, the value lies in the details: not just how much capacity is left, but also whether all cells are still performing equally.
The SOH percentage: the actual capacity compared to the factory value
The cell balance: the voltage difference between the weakest and the strongest cell
The charging history: how often it has been fast-charged and how deeply it has been discharged
The warranty status of the battery pack
A comparison with similar cars of the same year of manufacture

Which Polestars we can test
A compact range, but the Polestar 2 is by far the most sold and easy to read. In total, there are 6 Polestar versions in our list, divided into 2 model groups, including 2 Standard/Long Range, 4 Long Range.
We do not yet have enough measurements from Polestar to provide a reliable picture. However, the same applies to every brand: the measurement reads the actual capacity, which regularly turns out differently than the mileage would suggest.
Age and mileage say little about a battery pack. How it has been charged is more important: a car that was connected to a fast charger for years is in a different condition than a car that was connected to a wallbox at home. You only see that difference when you read the pack itself, and that is precisely what a buyer of a second-hand Polestar asks for.
The measurement runs via the OBD port. You receive the SOH percentage, the cell balance, the warranty status, the charging history, and a comparison with similar cars, summarized in a CARA-certified certificate as a PDF and a JPEG.
